After months of negotiations with Devon Heritage Centre (DHC) and with Crediton Town and Sandford Parish Councils for funding, on 9th March Crediton's Mayor Councillor Frank Letch opened the Research Corner and Service Point at Crediton Museum. The Town and Parish Fund set up by Devon County Council provided £600 towards the £700 cost of installing a telephone point, broadband connection and FindMyPast (family history website) subscription. Sandford Parish Council contributed a further £50.

The work bench was kindly provided and installed by our corporate Friends, Ashgrove Kitchens.

DHC provided micro fiche copies of the parish registers, tithe maps and apportionments for Crediton and surrounding parishes, dating back to the 1500s. More detail of the new facilities are on the Find Your Past page.
