Many of the villages around Crediton have active local history groups and some mount an exhibition to coincide with Harvest Festival.
These include Shobrooke and Newton St Cyres and over the weekend 14/15 September Shobrooke Church was transfomed by displays by local craftspeople and groups, including Shobrooke History Group. Meanwhile, the garden and local produce show at Newton St Cyres village hall included a most impressive display by their history group featuring the Great War. Our photographs illustrate the extent of the historic investigations these local groups undertook and the skill with which they present their material.
