Our Archives: Crediton's Heritage

The society's main asset is the archive of documents relating to the Crediton area.

We have 1,000s of documents in our archives and an extensive collection of postcards and photographs. Some of these have been reproduced in the the form of cards and notelets which can be purchased from the museum

The society continues to receive donations of documents, maps, postcards and other items concerning Crediton and the surrounding villages.

All these are stored in rooms at Downes (the historic home of the Buller family) by kind permission of Mr Henry Parker.

Items can be brought to you in our research centre by arrangement. Please browse the indexes to find the item you need and then contact us for more information or to book an appointment to view the item, quoting the reference number which can be found at the top of each index page.

** Please note that not all of our archive is catalogued on these pages. If you don't find what you are looking for it's still worth contacting us. **
