Talk on the restoration of a LNER teak railway carriage. Event organised by the Mid Devon Tractor Engine and Machinery Group.
The speaker at the monthly meeting of the MDTEMG at 1930 in Morchard Bishop Memorial Hall will be Nick Stringer on 'From a field to the National Railway Museum'. This will cover the restoration of a 1930s teak panelled coach - designed by Sir Nigel Gresley for the London and North Eastern Railway - to such a high standard that it was 'borrowed' by the NRM to sit alongside 'The Flying Scotsman' as part of the recent NRM exhibition.
