Crediton Parish Library Revealed

Talk and display about the 16th-18th Century books from Crediton parish library currently cared for by Exeter University.

A chance to find out more about this historical library bequeathed to the parish in 1721. PhD student Anna-Lujz Gilbert will give an introduction to the library and its place in a major national movement to supply books to the clergy. Attendees will then get the chance to explore the history of the books further through a temporary display of some of the fascinating volumes from the library, which are cared for by the University of Exeter's Special Collections.
