Exhibition of various aspects of early 20th Century history in Newton St Cyres.
EXHIBITION IN NEWTON ST CYRES VILLAGE HALL Sunday April 3rd 2-6pm arranged by Newton St Cyres History Group
This will be an exhibition with most interest for the population of Newton St Cyres and those that grew up here, and most particularly those who went to school here. The two main strands of the exhibition are:
-
a collection of material from the loft of Reg Mear a much loved and respected former headmaster of the school here who died last year
-
A large collection of pre-WW2 photographs of Exeter by Lynda Pearce
There will also be displays of finds by metal detectorists and we hope to have tapes of a village character, Reg Bray playing, describing life in the village in the early years of the 20th century.
Entry £2 to include tea and biscuits.
Attendees are requested to wear face coverings. The exhibition is open for 4 hours so it is hoped visits will be spread timewise. Both the hall and the (adjacent) club room will be in use.
