The AGM is at 10.30 (coffee from 10am) in the Rougemont Room, Exeter Library on Saturday 18th May at 10.30. It is open to all DCRS members free of charge.
The Conference that follows on from 11am until 3.30 is entitled ‘From Exeter Cathedral to the Plymouth Royal Eye Infirmary: Devon’s Medical History’. Speakers and subjects are:
- Rachel Scott ‘Potions and promises: discovering a medieval miscellany from Ottery St Mary’
- Catherine Rider ‘Medieval medicine in Exeter Cathedral Manuscripts’
- Peter Elmer ‘Introducing the Medical Practitioners in Early Modern Devon database’
- David Radstone ’Tools of the trade: old medical instruments from the Devon and Exeter Medical Heritage Trust collection’
- Mike Tracey ‘Churning out Butter: How John Butter’s Memoir saw the Light of Day'
The fee for the Conference will be £12.50 per person for members and non-members. You can make payment in advance direct to the Society’s bank:
